Eigentlich wollten wir mit SAS von Oslo nach Alta, und von dort weiter mit Widerøe nach Honningsvåg, 30 km südluch vom Nordkapp. Der erste Flug klappt gut, Umsteigen auch, aber der Widerøe-Flug geht zuerst nach Vadsö, dann nach Båtsfjord, und dann mit einem weiteren Zwischenstopp nach Honningsvåg – so der Plan. In Båtsfjord hat die Dash 8 aber Probleme mit dem Bremssystem, so daß wir nach Tromsø umgeleitet werden. Auf dem Weg dorthin gibt es spektakuläre Aussichten aus dem Flieger – auch auf das Nordkapp, wenn auch nur aus der Ferne.

Dort sitzen wir jetzt, ausgestattet mir Essensgutscheinen und verzehren die dafür erstandene Pizza. In zwei Stunden soll ein Flug nach Lakselv gehen, von dort müssen wir uns 2 h im Bus vergnügen. Zum Glück ist es tagshell … Mitternachtssonne!!
We were supposed to fly from Oslo to Alta and then on to Honningsvåg, 30km south of North Cape. The first flight(Oslo-Alta) went well, and swapping planes too, and the second Plane stopped in Vadsø, then Båtsfjord and then with another pitstop on to Honningsvåg, at least that was the Plan. Sadly, the crew discovered in Båtsfjord that there was a problem with the brakes, so we had to fly to Tromsø, since the plane was unable to land on a short landing track (such as was the case on Honningsvåg) due to the faulty breaks. But, we did see north cape… if only out of the window.
So now we are sitting at Tromsø airport and are eating pizza we got as a replacement for our plane trip that didnt work out. In 2 hours we are flying to Lakselv, and from there we have to enjoy 2 h with the bus, luckily, the sun will be out all night…. midnight-sun!
